I love sports!!

I love sports. Participating in the school sports team is always my dream. However, the campus of my last school was very small. With the construction of the new gymnasium and teaching building, the campus became even smaller. The basketball team and volleyball team were forced to be dismissed. Therefore, I did not have any chance to join the sports team.

My brother joined the badminton team of his department. He always shared his experience with me. He told me that sentiments between members were harmonious and feelings of joining contest were really exciting. Last year, he went to another university to have a badminton contest. Their team won the championship there. Moreover, he met some people who have the same interest with him there. One of the rivals and my brother made a promise to become stronger and had another competition with each other. Competition is not a war or fight between school and school. Instead, it is a bridge of communication and friendship. I am envious of my brother. I do not have this kind of experience. Therefore, it strengthens my willingness to join the sports team.

School life is sometimes high pressured. Enormous reports and tests make me feel stifled. Exercise is the best method to release my pressure and refill my energy. You can do nothing without a healthy body and spirit.

Reunion and experience sharing

Last week, I went back to Kaohsiung to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I met her at a friend’s party. She as well as I is a student of fifth-year college student. After coming back from the United States, I decided to attend the transfer test. She got the same goal with me. Therefore, we sometimes studied and hanged out together. Thanks to her encouragement, I was admitted. Next year, it is her turn to take the transfer exam. Therefore, not only did I go back to celebrate her birthday but tell her some of the experience of handling the test.

We talked a lot about what we had been lately. Though still a fifth-year college student, she owns the ambition of university student. College, unlike university, has little source, she claimed. Her school has little audio-video facility allowing her to practice the English ability test and to watch the western movie, which may allow her to have more contact with foreign languages. Moreover, since her school is management-originated school. The development of department of foreign language is not so prosperous. That’s another reason urges her to attend university. According to my experience, test takers are often very nervous. “Though studying is important, exercise and relax are also important,” I told her. Non-stop studying won’t help. Without rest, it is also harmful to the health condition. Also, she being a test take of department of foreign language, I recommend her to read some English short stories if having leisure time. Reading will improve the writing ability and vocabulary.

All of above is what I told her. Of course, I gave her a best wish. I wish her to be admitted to the university next year and enjoy her happy university life.

Program review

Unlike the grand building and stylish adornment in the western, the building in my hometown and most eastern countries are comparatively simple and highly functional. In my hometown, land resource is very limited because of the size of our territory. Living spaces of every family are usually very small. Therefore, functional designs of houses are very important.

The most awesome interior design I had ever seen was the one I saw on the TV program. The setting is taken in the urban area of Japan where living spaces are also very limited. The house had already been reformed for several times and the arrangement of the rooms is weird. Toilet was the entrance of the house. Abundant furniture and commodity piled up at the passageway. Sunlight can hardly come in the house with all these stuff. The family had to open the light even in the morning. Furthermore, the family of four members all slept in one room crowded with furniture. Living under such condition was really unbearable, so they invited an architect to reform their house. The architect was a specialist in interior design. He first tore down the house and redesigned the arrangement. Part of the roof was replaced by the transport board in order to bring in sunlight. Moreover, the architect set up some special storage under the floor. The spaces under the floor, step, and bed were all used to store the commodity and not often used item. Therefore, living space became wider and more comfortable and every member had their own room. Kitchen was the place where had the biggest change. The space was crowded by a lot of cooking appliance and condiment and it can hardly accommodate dining table. The architect set up a big storage for the appliance and multipurpose foldable table which can be stored in the wall when not used. The mother of the family became more interested in cooking because of this convenience.

The appearance changed a lot, too. It used to be rustic metal and eroded wood. Bright color wood and antirust metal was adopted to keep the exterior simple and easy to clean. Home is the space where can provide relaxation and comfort to mind and spirit. Comfortable and clean environment can lessen the nerve and refill the energy. This TV program had already successful helped a lot of family reform their house.

Not only good friends but also good teachers

Interactions between classmates are very important not only in the aspect of mind, but also in the aspect of behavior. The junior high school I went was very normal. Students all came from the same cultural and religious background. I barely met students with unique experiences and backgrounds.

Until I entered Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages, my last school, I started to feel how limited my world was. Students here came from all over the world. They had different cultural background, prospective, and goal. My classmates taught me useful concepts, introduced me the delicious delicacy of their country, and helped me solve the problem I encountered. One of my best friends was from Myanmar. She came to Taiwan to study without her family’s financial support, so she had to work hard in order to pay the tuition fee. My family’s financial condition was not bad, so I always bought what I needed and what I wanted without careful consideration. With the relationship to her, I started to realize that I wasted a lot of money. I bought too many things that I didn’t really need and items that I had already had. “Live for today, but plan for tomorrow.” is my friend’s life principle. Impulsive shopping and decision would indeed have some negative effects to your life. Therefore, I started to work and save the money in the bank. Now, I don’t have to worry about the problem of money and I can use the money to buy present for my parents in order to appreciate their care and kindness.

Another classmate told me a lifelong principle. Once I was baffled by a disappointment and I couldn’t get rid of that mood. Therefore, I was very down for couple of days. My classmate discovered my sad mood and told me that disappointments come and go, but life still moves on. It was no use to feel sad about the status quo. Solving the problem and getting rid of the choke point are more important. She encouraged me and helped me got through the difficulty. Her remarks had great influences on me. I used to escape from problems and controversial issues. Because my classmate’s words, I started to face the problem and tried to solve it. Solving problems are fun and the joy and satisfaction after dealing the problem were incredible. These two friends have great impacts on my life. They not only help me to deal with my coursework, but also teach me the principle of life.

Not only study

Human have to renew themselves in order to keep growing. Life is dull with progress. Despite studying, joining activities and voluntary works would be another way to renew your life.

Joining extracurricular activity is always an integral part of my school life. Penmanship contest was the first activity I joined. Although I did not win the prize, I found that the experience I earned was more precious than the prize. With the number of activity I joined increased, I became more confident about myself. Therefore, I would like to join interesting activities and clubs to during my university life. Student organization would be my first choice. The student organization I use to join in my last school was responsible for announcing information the school released to students and holding activities. Holding a satisfactory activity is difficult. It would be more exciting and challenging to hold activities in such a big campus.

College life should not merely fill with study. Study is the catalyst for the growth of mind. Activities and entertainments are the nourishment of spirit. Once combined the two above, the college life would become truly splendid. I think, after midterm exam, I can join more activities and not just cram on the coursework.
